With the recent publication of Vol. XXXIII of the Journal of Irish Archaeology, the Call for Papers for Vol. XXXIV is now open (to be published in late 2025). It will close on 31st January 2025.
Two different categories of articles will be considered for publication: papers (no longer than 10,000 words, including bibliography, tables and captions) and reports (no longer than 3,500 words, including bibliography, tables and captions). Both papers and reports must have a strong analytical component, but papers will have more substantial discussion sections in which the broader implications of the research are considered. Reports may be more technical, address a narrower topic and/or have a narrower analytical context. https://www.iai.ie/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/JIA_Style_Guidelines_Nov21.pdf
Editorship of the journal changes every two years, rotating between the archaeology teaching staff in third-level institutions on the island of Ireland. The Editorial Board of the JIA has now been added to the official rotation and the next volume (along with the recently issued volume) sees Dr Kerri Cleary as editor. If you would like to contribute to the JIA you are encouraged to contact the Editor, Dr Cleary ([email protected]), for a preliminary informal discussion.
The IAI and Wordwell Books would like to thank our current editor Dr Kerri Cleary for her excellent and ongoing work on behalf of JIA.
